There are indications that the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Tunde Balogun may not return as the elected Chairman of the party in the state, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The Congress to elect state officers of the party takes place on Saturday, 16 October, 2021.
This medium learnt that Alhaji Balogun has started removing his personal belongings from his office at Acme Road Secretariat of the party.
Balogun has not even indicated his intention to contest as it was learnt that he has not received the blessings of the party leaders to do so.
On Monday, 11 October, 2021, Balogun was seen removing his personal belongings from his office.
The Gazelle News.com learnt that the embattled party chairman may have lost the position due to the crisis that rocked the nomination of candidates for the last local government elections in the state with top party leaders pointing accusing fingers at him for the way things turned out.
As it is, two aspirants have indicated their intention publicly to run for the Chairmanship office: Ex-Vice Chairman of the party for the Lagos Central Senatorial District, Fouad Oki; and Lagos4Lagos Movement candidate, Prince Sunday Ajayi.
