Former Minister and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has asked eligible Nigerians who have attained the voting age to go online en masse and register for the onward collection of their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs)
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) for eligible new voters in the country, ahead of the 2023 general election
Senator Obanikoro who commended INEC for easing the registration process through the opening of a portal, said to vote during elections is not only a civic responsibility on the part of every citizen but also a means through which citizens lay their stakes and participate in governance at all levels.
He therefore charged young men and women who are just attaining the age of 18 and other affected persons to visit the INEC’s registration portal on https://cvr.inecnigeria.org for new voter registration, review of voter information, transfers of polling unit, update of information, collection of PVC and replacement of lost or damaged PVC.
The former Lagos Island Local Government Chairman explained further that the PVC remains an access to their voting right and power to determine their future, thereby determining who will govern them in their best interests in the forthcoming 2023 general elections and beyond; adding that it equally serves other multiple purposes.
It would be recalled that INEC recently launched a continuous voter registration portal which allows eligible voters to pre-register, update information and find registration centers.
