The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon Jide Jimoh, has urged all Nigerian Muslims to seize the opportunity of the Holy Month of Ramadan to offer prayers for peace, unity, stability and end to insecurity in the nation.
He disclosed this to journalists over the weekend at Oluremi Tinubu Hall during the turbaning ceremony of the Imams of Yaba LCDA Central Mosque.
He said the Muslim community should take advantage of the many bounties inherent in the holy month of Ramadan by rededicating themselves to the service of Almighty Allah (SWT) and pray for the nation.
While congratulating the three turbaned chief imams, he urged them never to relent in the dispensation of justice and fairness to all in the course of discharging their religious duties.
According to him “As the fasting commenced, the turbaning of chief imams was an act of God and we should be thankful to Almighty Allah for making it happen. During this holy month, I enjoined Nigerian Muslims to rededicate themselves to projecting the Islamic virtues of brotherly love, peaceful co-existence, honesty, tolerance, fairness, equity and justice for all in their dealings with others and prayed for total end of insurgency rocking our country”.
He urged all Nigerians, in the spirit of the Holy Month, to embrace peace and join hands with the Government to build a more united, progressive and prosperous nation for the benefit of all.
The new chief Imams of Yaba LCDA Central Mosque turbaned were: Alhaji Isa Ayoku, Alhaji Saloman Awwal, and Alhaji Sikiru LLah.
Present at the ceremomy were: Chief Imam of Mainland Central Mosque, Alhaji Sabitu Akani Owo Wunmi; Chief Imam Nigeria Railway Corporation, Alhaji Ibrahim Temidire; and Al-Mufasir of Mainland Central Mosque, Alhaji Ustaz Abdul Waheed Salimon Pakoyi among others.
