The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Akinlabi Dare visited the 80 bed hospital in Pakiotan area of Ogbomosho, a day after his coronation by Soun Of Ogbomoso Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III as Agba Akin of Ogbomoso land.
The Minister commended the standard of work at the Specialist Hospital which he facilitated as one of the Sustainable Growth Projects initiated by the Federal Government.
The project which started late last year is nearing completion and would soon be commissioned.
The hospital is one of the intervention efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari to tackle neo-natal, infant and maternal deaths in Nigeria.
When completed, it will be fully equipped by the government to cater for the healthcare of Ogbomosoland and environs.
Speaking on the project, the Minister said, “I am pleased to see that the project we started late last year is nearing completion, this will improve healthcare infrastructure and provide employment opportunities for the people of Oyo state at large.
“I want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari and the Office of the SSA to the President on SDGs, Mrs Joke Orelope-Adefulire for approving this project for the people of Ogbomoso. Since health is wealth, this 80-bed hospital will enhance the health delivery system of Ogbomosho. We look forward to more relevant projects being cited in Ogbomoso town”.
