A Mercedes driven by a yet-to-be identified man in North London in United Kingdom on Monday, 29 December, 2025 killed a man allegedly in his 80s and refused to stop after the tragic incident.

Kent Police in United Kingdom revealed that the pensioner was struck by a grey Mercedes on the A289 Gads Hill, in Gillingham, on Monday, 29 December, 2025 and carried for an unspecified distance.

According to My London,  the victim’s severely injured body was found by a roadside, with the now abandoned vehicle located nearby.

Southeast Coast Ambulance Service paramedics treated the elderly man at the scene, but he later died, a spokesperson said.

The Mercedes’ two occupants are believed to have fled on foot after leaving the car. A 29-year-old man from Chatham, and another man, 28, of no fixed address, were arrested the same day.

The third man, a 28-year-old from London, was arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday, 30 December, 2025 and he is still in police custody.

Detectives investigating the fatal crash previously released CCTV images showing two hooded men dressed in dark clothing. DI Zoe Wilczek, of Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said the force was continuing to appeal for witnesses.
