The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni (WES) received a royal welcome at Itire Ikate LCDA Secretariat, venue of the gathering for party faithfuls, community leaders and residents on Wednesday, 1 February, 2023, where he was invited to speak on his manifesto with his would be constituents.
It was a well attended function by the candidates of APC for the state House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Sangodara; House of Representatives, Architect Lanre Okunola; and of course, WES for Senate.
Party leaders, past and present political office holders in Itire Ikate and Surulere were on hand to show solidarity with these candidates. Among those present were: Chief Adenekan, Surulere Apex Leader; Hons. Bamgbala, Balogun, Arole Fancy, Kayode Oseni, Tajudeen Ajide and Ajao. The host, Hon. Dr Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira assured the candidates that Itire Ikate will deliver; and more convincingly this time around.
The crowd was tumultuous. Party men, artisans and market men and women came out in droves, in solidarity with the candidates and offer their support.
Turn after turn, these leaders, while encouraging the crowd to massively support all APC candidates, asked them to protect their PVCs. They sensitised all party men to canvass people in their neighbourhood to support the broom symbol.
On his part, Rt Hon Eshilokun-Sanni while appreciating the crowd, noted that they should shun ethnicity and religious bigotry in their choice of candidates as APC has proved with Lagos that a vote for Asiwaju Tinubu and all APC candidates, including him, is a vote for development and progress in Nigeria.
He eulogised Asiwaju for mentoring a lot of them to prominence and assured the electorates that their votes for Asiwaju will give APC the Federal Government again; and that a Yoruba man from Lagos will occupy the Presidential seat.
