The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has appreciated Nigerian workers, especially Lagos State workers for their forthrightness, dedication and resilience.

Felicitating the workers on the commemoration of the 2024 Workers’ Day, Ojelabi said since no administration succeeds without a happy and productive workforce, all the successes recorded so far in the state were due to the efforts of the workers who, he commended for being very dedicated and responsible.

He praised the Nigerian workers for their diligence and commitment to duty, but called for more resilience and patience so as to take the state to its Eldorado and dreams of its founding fathers with relative ease.

“We cannot say everything is in its perfect state, we cannot say there are no challenges, but the truth remain that Lagos workers  are far better than their counterparts in other states.

“We know we have not met all the yearnings of workers, but the truth is that workers in this state of excellence  are happier.

“APC government at all levels is committed to enhancing their welfare no matter the current situation. Things will continue to improve and get better because this party prioritises its workers.

“Our party is not unaware of the challenges here and there, but it is crystal clear to all workers that the government at the central and state level are not sleeping or resting on their oars to improve the condition of workers and working environment,” Ojelabi said.

He said that the APC led Federal Government headed by President Bola Tinubu had in the last few months showed commitment to the welfare of workers, the latest being the newly Inaugurated credit grant for workers.

“We cannot soon forget the wage award provided by the President to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

“Also, we have seen different palliative programmes, discounts and Eko Cares initiative recently launched by the Mr. Governor to also ease hardship in transportation, education, health, agriculture among others.

“APC at all levels is committed to putting in place measures, programmes and policies that will not only improve their standard of living but will also enhance their well being,” the Lagos APC Chairman said.

He commended the workers for their  diligence, dedication and commitment to duty, saying  the party would never look done on workers in the state.

Ojelabi stated further that Nigerian workers possessed every attributes to compete favourable and positively with counterparts anywhere in the world.

The former Chairman of Ojo Local Government however called on the workers to continue to support the government and show greater understanding and cooperation.

He said that the party and the government also needed prayers from the workers to always do the right for the advancement of the nation.

“No party loves workers than APC. Our party wishes workers a happy May Day celebration and many happy returns in good health and prosperity,” Ojelabi, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ojo Federal Constituency, noted.
