The North East Elders and Youths Forum have expressed their intention to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zone A Yobe East Senatorial nomination form for Governor Mai Mala Buni in the forth coming 2027 elections.
The initiative brought together youths and elders from six states in the North East led by their National Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Magaji Gombe.
Magaji who stated this on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026, at the end of their Executive Council Meeting in Bauchi, said that they have contributed money among themselves, adding that the funds would be used to purchase the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Governor Mai Mala Buni tomorrow Wednesday.
He explained that the gesture was in recognition of Mai Mala contributions to the Yobe State North Eastern States ,Nigeria and his unwavering commitment to democratic governance.
“At this stage of Nigeria’s political development, the country needs politicians like Mai Mala who is a dynamic quintessential, examplary leader and detribalised Nigerian who can boldly check the excesses of the executive and speak truth to power, regardless of whose interests are affected.
“We contributed towards the purchase of his nomination form, not only because he has proven himself as a reliable representative of Yobe East ZONE A and the entire North East.
“We believe Mai Mala can fly the ticket through Yobe East ZONE A, but he will represent the entire North East because of his inclusive leadership and accessibility.We believe he will be accessible to the entire North East and his doors will remain open to all to pass their wants and needs. We want him to occupy that seat as the country needs voices of true democract like him”.
” Look at the way he governed Yobe , he served his people well, restored peace , development and enhanced the dignity of the common man. He develop all sectors and restored people hope on everything called development and the Government “.
“Look at the way he brougth peace and stability in APC. He brought everyone on board, united the Party and charted the way for cohesion , understanding, thereby bringing sustainable progress in the Party,” he said.
Magaji said because all his exceptional qualities and in the interest of the country, they have no option but to take the decision in order to persuade the Governor to contest the Senatorial seat in order to continue to make his contributions to the State , Northeast and Nigeria at large.
“Buni has done so much for Yobe State, Northeast and Nigeria at large and that is why we have come together to take the decision to buy the form for him to contest.
“Our group is a Legacy Group consisting of stakeholders that include Patriots, Professionals, technocrat and artisans who are determined to assist the Governor to consolidate on the legacy of achievements he recorded through examplary leadership as a mark of honour to Governor Mai Mala who has contributed enormously to the success of the party.
“We equally understand that the Governor’s passion has always been to leave Yobe State better than he met it.This has been largely achieved through the support of citizens and leaders from the Local to the Federal level including members of the Group,” he said.
Magaji called on the Governor to.heed to their call and accept to contest the senatorial seat in the interest of the people of North East and Nigeria.
