Honourable James Abiodun Faleke, one of the prime movers of the Bill that seek to ensure the listing of the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to be listed in the Constitution has stated that Lagos State has satisfied all the conditions needed for the councils to be listed, reports thegazellenews.com
In an exclusive chat with thegazellenews.com on Wednesday, 26 March, 2025, Faleke told our correspondent that the listing of the LCDAs was long overdue.

“We have satisfied all the necessary conditions needed for the LCDAs to be listed. We have conducted the referendum, we have done the clear delineation of wards and constituencies among other conditions,” the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency told our correspondent.
According to Faleke, the creation and operation of LCDAs in Lagos has engendered rapid infrastructure development of the state which makes the state the most developed in the country in infrastructure.
“When you visit most of the LCDAs in Lagos, they have performed well above local governments in other states in the area of infrastructure provision. So the listing of the LCDAs is long overdue,” Faleke, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance told thegazellenews.com
Faleke who was the first Chairman of Ojodu LCDA and first Chairman of Conference 57, umbrella organisation of Council Chairmen in the state, told thegazellenews.com ensuring that the councils are listed is a service the lawmakers owed the people of the state.
“At this stage, we are happy that we have taken the decisive step to make our people happy, and by the special grace of God, we shall succeed,” he said.
