AMBO Grassrooters, a frontline support group for the actualisation of the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) on Thursday, 8 May, 2025, commenced its sensitization and familiarization tour of Osun Local Governments with a symbolic visit to Ila Local Government to canvass support for the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
Led by a former Chairman of Ede South LGA, Elder Deji Agboola, the group noted that Oyebamiji’s wealth of experience in public and private services with unassailable integrity and track records of verifiable achievements stands him out as the only credible alternative to rescue Osun State from the present maladministration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) without corresponding good governance considering over bloated and reckless financial misappropriation of tax payers money.

However, AMBO is widely preferred and adjudged among card carrying members of the All Progressives Congress Stakeholders and people of Osun State as the best man for the job that can push and pull the party to a landslide electoral victory at the first ballot.
This is in consideration to his credibility and excelling in any assignment given to him. As a two time former state Commissioner for Finance, he has distinguished himself by playing a pivotal role in the economic renewal, prosperity and stability of the state and ensuring that Osun returned to full payment of salaries for its workers.

Describing Oyebamiji as public servant with positive character to all and sundry regardless of party affiliations, Elder Agboola stated that the MD/CEO of NIWA has demonstrated integrity, consistency, capacity capability, truthfulness, quality leadership and a selfless leader who prioritise the welfare of the masses against all odds considering competing demands.
The group reaffirmed and re-assured party members and stakeholders in Ila Local Government that Oyebamiji’s competence will enhance sustainable development, infrastructure renewal, socio-commercial and economic growth for all and sundry in the state.
The group emphasized that though political campaigns have not started and neither has the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the schedule for 2026 gubernatorial polls, the strategic visits will provide opportunities to interact and stimulate consultation with relevant stakeholders in order to re-defining and reshaping collective responsibilities for cooperation and promoting unity among party members at various inter and intra party engagements.

AMBO Grassrooters comprises of local government chairmen from 2017 till date with the core mandate to garner and mobilize support among party members and non-partsan members for Oyebamiji to be elected as the next Executive Governor of Osun State.
This is intended to be achieved through full participation, sense of belonging, mutual cooperation and inclusiveness of all progressive minded individuals, grassroots mobilizers and the people of Osun State.
