Famous Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi,  has warned the public against circulating false, misleading, and defamatory statements about her.

The actress, who gave the warning through a notice issued by her solicitors, said that certain individuals had published and circulated statements, allegations Toyin, and narratives concerning her. The notice described such posts as untrue, misleading, unsubstantiated, and capable of damaging her professional reputation, image, personal integrity, and general goodwill.

The firm in a letter signed by Tope Salami, Esq., warned members of the public, specifically bloggers, social media users, content creators, and influencers, to be wary of what it described as false and malicious publications targeting the actress by some “known  persons” using sponsored individuals as cover.

“Immediately cease and desist from publishing, sharing, reposting, or circulating false, defamatory, or unverified information concerning its client on all communication platforms; Refrain from creating, promoting, or amplifying misleading narratives, fabricated allegations, malicious insinuations, or content intended to ridicule, harass, or damage her reputation; Remove any existing publications, posts, videos, comments, or other content containing false, defamatory statements concerning her; Refrain from using social media platforms or any other medium to encourage harassment, cyberbullying, intimidation, or reputational attacks against her person or business; and ensure that any future commentary concerning its client is factual, responsible, fair, and supported by verifiable information”.

The firm also added that anyone found publishing and circulating false and defamatory statements after receiving the notice will be held legally responsible and may face appropriate legal proceedings and other remedies available under existing laws.
