In a remarkable display of unity and purpose, Hon. Seyi Jakande, All Progressives Congress APC) chairmanship flag bearer for Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, alongside his with his running mate, Hon. Niyi Awodogan, joined forces with all councillorship candidates to engage with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Chapter at St. Paul Church, Ilupeju on Sunday, 29 June, 2025.
The gathering highlighted the community’s support for Jakande’s candidacy ahead of the upcoming elections on July 12. The Christian body, without reservation, threw their weights behind all the APC candidates in the Council.


The event featured inspiring remarks from key stakeholders, including the member representing Mushin Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Honourable Adeyemi Alli; the CAN Odi-Olowo coordinator, Rt. Rev Engr E. O. B. Durowoju , PhD; the Council’s APC Party Chairman, Alhaji Ismail Babatunde Kazeem (Tunkaz); the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon Lekan Fatodu; the incumbent Chairman of Odi-Olowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Ajala as well a host of other party leaders in attendance.
The presence of distinguished dignitaries from CAN, included Evangelist Chibuzor Eze (Vice Coordinator), Elder Dada Olusanya (Secretary), Prophet Femi Jaiyeoba (Treasurer), Pastor Ṣeun Adedayo (Assistant Secretary), Reverend David Olaiya (Director), Elder Raphael Owoeye (Director), Elder L.K. Olorunmaye (Director), Apostle Pls Williams Okuneye (Director), and Pastor J Olutola (Director)
The CAN Coordinator praised the incumbent for his exemplary leadership and affirmed the endorsement of Hon. Seyi Jakande for a brighter Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye. “In recognizing Hon. Rasaq Ajala’s legacy, we stand together to support Hon. Seyi Jakande’s aspiration for the chairmanship,” he urged.
MHR Adeyemi Alli unveiled the candidates for all political Wards, reaffirming that the selection of Hon. Jakande was a decision rooted in consensus. “Our support is about our shared vision for the future,” he stated passionately.
Hon. Jakande, in his remarks, made a call to action, urging everyone to prepare to make their voices heard on July 12, while assuring the gathering of continuity of the good governance they enjoy presently.

In a powerful keynote address, Hon. Rasaq Ajala articulated the importance of promoting governance over religious divides while drumming supports for the candidacy of Hon Jakande. “Let us focus on what unites us—our desire for effective leadership,” he emphasized.
As the event concluded, Christian leaders surrounded the candidates, enveloping them in heartfelt prayers, symbolising the community’s commitment to spiritual and civic duty.
