The Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Yakubu Adamu, PhD, has been conferred with the traditional title of Wazirin Giade in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of traditional institutions.

The honour was bestowed during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner by the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau, who was accompanied by key stakeholders and traditional rulers from Giade Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit Tuesday, the delegation explained that the decision to honour Hon. Yakubu Adamu followed his consistent support for the preservation of cultural heritage, strengthening of traditional institutions, and commitment to inclusive development across the state.

The conferment ceremony highlighted the strong collaboration between government officials and traditional authorities, which stakeholders described as critical to grassroots development and social stability.

In his response, Hon. Yakubu Adamu, PhD, expressed deep appreciation to the Deputy Governor, the Giade Traditional Council, and all members of the delegation for the honour and solidarity shown to him.

He described the title as a responsibility rather than a privilege, pledging to continue supporting and respecting traditional institutions and constituted authorities.
“I am deeply grateful to the good people of Giade for finding me worthy of this honour. I assure you that I will continue to support our traditional institutions and work tirelessly for the development of our communities and Bauchi State at large,” the commissioner said.

The event concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and sustained development in Giade Local Government Area and Bauchi State as a whole as Bauchi State Celebrate it’s 50yrs of it’s creation.
