The steady rise and impressive performances of 17 years old Richard Ajayi, who recently made his first team debut for Germany giants Bayern Munich has not gone unnoticed, as Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, is reportedly monitoring the progress of the talented left back.

Ajayi, who is equally comfortable as a central midfielder or winger, first joined first team training late last year.

After impressing Vincent Kompany, he was included in the Bayern Munich’s team squad for the opening pre-season friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

Nigeria born Ajayi was a product of Lagos based Star-To- Be FC, and the youngster moved to Germany from Ukraine, to continue his football education, and quickly established himself as a potential super star, with outstanding performances for the Bayern Munich’s U19 side.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who is equally saddled with the job of Nigeria’s U23 team, is expected to continue monitoring the progress of Ajayi, for possible invitation to the national team, as he looks to build a solid U23 team, that would also serve as a feeder to the Super Eagles.
