The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, 23, and recovered Sixty-Four bottles of Methylene Chloride, alongside 17 pieces of rubber solution, from him.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, 26 August, 2026 by its spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, who said the arrest formed part of its efforts to combat drug abuse and safeguard public health.
Operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit arrested Suleman, a resident of the Tudun Salmanu area of the state, during an intelligence-led operation at Bayan Gari in the Bauchi metropolis on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, at about 5pm.
“The suspect was intercepted during a routine intelligence-led operation. Upon search, the following exhibits were promptly recovered from the suspect: 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions,” the statement partly read.
The recovered substances have been seized and registered as exhibits, the command said, noting that Suleman remained in custody and was cooperating with investigators.
“He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” the statement added.
Reacting to the development, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling the distribution and abuse of harmful substances across the state.
He directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify surveillance and operations aimed at dismantling networks involved in the sale and abuse of illicit drugs and other harmful substances.
The command called on parents, guardians and community stakeholders to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies.
“The fight against drugs and substance abuse requires a collective approach,” the statement noted.
