Nigerian disc jockey and singer Florence Otedola, popularly known as Cuppy, has sparked social media reactions after posting a cryptic message about patience that prompted some users to make references to marriage.

Cuppy shared the post on Wednesday, 9 September, 2026, on her verified X account, asking, “When God said patience, did He specify how long?” alongside a smiling face with a sweat emoji.

The post had garnered more than 144,000 views, alongside about 6,000 likes, 558 comments and 544 reposts.

While Cuppy did not explain what prompted the post, some users interpreted it as a reference to waiting for marriage and responded with humorous comments.

One user, @artonebon, replied, “30 years upwards,” while verified user Cosmos Lahn wrote, “My cuppy will run over,” accompanied by clapping emojis.

Another verified user, identified as Engr Oluwa, urged her to “Go marry and leave God alone,” before stating, “He is not the one holding you back.”

Other users joined the exchange, with Holar Owo writing, “Keep selecting okay. Patience wey done die since patience Ozonkwor stopped acting.”

Omo.lile03 also commented, “Iwo sha be patient omoge e go clear mafor,” while Gabriel S. responded, “‘…till it comes to pass,’” suggesting that patience could eventually yield the desired result.

Cuppy has not indicated that the post was specifically about marriage, leaving its meaning open to interpretation as the online discussion continued.
