The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has described the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as a “true mother of the nation” whose compassion transcends political, ethnic, religious and geographical boundaries, as she marked her 66th birthday.
Yilwatda made the remarks in a felicitation message issued on Monday, 21 September, 2026, on behalf of the party’s National Working Committee, leaders and members.
He explained that the occasion was a moment to celebrate not merely another year in the First Lady’s life, but a woman whose journey of service, compassion and sacrifice continues to touch countless lives across the nation.
The APC Chairman commended the First Lady’s humanitarian interventions through the Renewed Hope Initiative, particularly in education, healthcare, women and youth empowerment, and support for vulnerable Nigerians, describing her leadership as one focused on restoring dignity and rekindling hope.
“Through the Renewed Hope Initiative and your many interventions in education, healthcare, women and youth empowerment and support for vulnerable Nigerians, you have demonstrated that leadership is ultimately about restoring dignity, rekindling hope and giving people the confidence that tomorrow can be better. Your quiet acts of kindness and your commitment to humanity have made you a source of comfort and inspiration to many Nigerians,” he said.
Yilwatda further commended the First Lady’s steadfast support for President Bola Tinubu amid the demanding journey of economic transformation and national renewal, describing her partnership with the President as an exemplification of shared purpose in service to the nation.
“You have stood firmly beside him through the difficult decisions, sacrifices and enormous responsibilities that come with steering Nigeria towards greater prosperity. Your strength, wisdom, prayers and understanding have provided an important pillar of support as the President pursues the arduous task of building a stronger, more secure and prosperous Nigeria. Your partnership exemplifies the power of shared purpose in the service of a nation,” he said.
The APC Chairman rounded off his message with prayers for the First Lady’s continued health, wisdom and fulfilment, expressing hope that her life would remain a blessing to Nigeria and humanity.
“On this auspicious occasion, I pray that Almighty God will continue to strengthen, preserve and bless you with abundant health, wisdom, grace and renewed energy. May the years ahead bring you greater fulfilment and enable you to touch even more lives with your compassion and service. Happy 66th birthday, Your Excellency. May your life continue to be a blessing to Nigeria and humanity,” he said.
