The Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon Wahab Alawiye-King has advised Nigerians not toy with the laid down health instructions put in place by experts in the health sector to combat the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus.
Alawiye-King gave this advice while reacting to the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari on Saturday, 18 April, 2020.
Mallam Abba Kyari died from coronavirus infection.
“Nigerians should know that this is a serious health issue on our hands and the only way we can combat, contain and curtail its deadly spread is through strict adherence to the laid down health precautions and measures by experts in the field,” he said.
According to him, “we must obey the rule of social distancing, wash and sanitise our hands regularly and ensure we stay at home and stay safe”.
The Lagos SUBEB chairman condoling with President Buhari on the Chief of Staff’s death, described the deceased as a man dedicated to his duty, loyal and committed to his boss and passionate about the growth and development of the country.
“He was a man dedicated and committed to his duty to his boss and the country at large and someone so passionate about the growth and development of Nigeria,” he said.
Alawiye-King stated further that, “I pray that Almighty Allah gives the President and the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the huge loss”.
