In a renewed surge of violence that has left villagers in fear and authorities under pressure, gunmen on the evening of Monday, 24 November, 2025 have abducted 11 residents of Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack comes barely two weeks after gunmen stormed the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in the area, kidnapping 38 worshippers and leaving several others dead.

According to witnesses, over 20 armed men invaded the community with a large herd of cattle, firing sporadically as residents fled for safety. An elderly woman was reportedly struck by a stray bullet.
A community leader, who spoke anonymously for security reasons, confirmed the abductions, saying 11 residents—seven of them from the same family—were taken away.
“We are traumatized. This is the second major attack in just days. Among those kidnapped are a pregnant woman, nursing mothers, and small children,” he said.
The kidnapped victims have been identified as:
Talatu Kabiru (20)
Magaji (6)

Mariam (6)
Saima (5)
Habibat (housewife)

Residents said the attackers moved from house to house, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors. Dozens of expended AK-47 shells were recovered at the scene after the gunmen retreated with their captives.
