The Rasak Ajala-led Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area on Monday, 2 June, 2025, continues its tradition of selling subsidised rams to residents to help cushion the high cost of rams for the Eid-l-Kabir celebration, reports thegazellenews.com
Thegazellenews.com reports further that the Rasaq-Ajala led administration has been selling subsidized rams and chickens during festive periods of Eid-l-Kabir and Christmas/New Year since the advent of the administration eight years ago.

This programme has become an annual ritual looked forward to by residents since the advent of the administration.
“Ajala has been doing this since he became the council Chairman and we thank him for this people-oriented programme,” a resident of Ojowere Street in Onipanu area of the council area told thegazellenews.com on Monday, 2 June, 2025.

While flagging off the programme on Monday, Ajala stated that the programme has become one of the flagship programmes of his administration. “It is a programme that has been well received by residents of this council because it has had positive impact on them.
“Every Eid-l-Kabir and Christmas/New Year period, our people look forward to buying subsidized rams and chickens to celebrate the festivals. We thank them for their support since the beginning of this administration and as we round up, I will urge to continue to support the coming administration because it’s a government of continuity,” he said.
“I have been buying subsidized rams here for the past eight years. This is a programme that has stood the test of time. When he started, we thought he won’t be able to sustain it but he has been consistent for the past eight years. We give kudos to him and we hope the incoming administration will follow in his footsteps,” a resident of Olateju told thegazellenews.com
This year, the Ajala administration deployed a new strategy that prevented the crowd that came last year.
Interested buyers go to the council secretariat at Town Planning Way, pay, collect receipt and code number which they will take to location where they collect their rams.
