Political momentum gathered pace in Agege Federal Constituency today, March 24, 2026, as stakeholders across the political stucture aligned in support of the emerging 2027 aspiration of High Chief (Alh) Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi (JP).
The strategic consultative meeting, convened earlier today, by the aspirant, brought together party leaders, executive and legislative officials from the two councils within the constituency, alongside Local Government and Ward Executives from all thirteen wards, underscoring a broad-based coalition rooted in unity, structure, and coordinated political direction.

Speaking at the session, Egunjobi articulated the vision underpinning his aspiration, describing it as a mission to deepen representation, strengthen legislative effectiveness, and attract meaningful development to Agege.

“My aspiration is grounded in service and driven by a clear commitment to the progress of our people. Agege deserves stronger representation, purposeful lawmaking, and visible development outcomes that directly impact our communities,” he said.
“This is not just about an election; it is about building a movement that reflects our shared values, unity, loyalty, and an unwavering focus on delivering for the people.”
He further charged stakeholders to sustain their support for party leadership at both the State and National levels, stressing the importance of political alignment and continuity.
“At a time like this, unity of purpose is non-negotiable. I urge all our leaders and stakeholders to continue supporting the leadership of our party, particularly our revered leader, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, whose role in maintaining stability and institutional strength remains vital,” he stated.
“We must also remain resolute in our collective commitment to the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose leadership continues to lay the foundation for sustainable national development.”
The meeting was coordinated by former Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde, who facilitated deliberations focused on campaign structure, grassroots mobilisation, and strategic coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, Babatunde described the gathering as a critical step in consolidating a formidable political platform.
“Today’s engagement reflects the strength of our collective resolve and the clarity of our direction. This is how enduring political structures are built, through consultation, inclusiveness, and discipline,” he said.
“I am honoured by the confidence reposed in me as Director General of the campaign, and I assure all stakeholders of a coordinated, inclusive, and result-driven process.”
A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous endorsement of Babatunde as Director General of the Egunjobi 2027 Campaign, a development that drew enthusiastic approval from participants across the constituency.
Stakeholders, in a chorus of affirmation, pledged their support for the campaign and expressed confidence in the leadership direction being established.
“This alignment speaks volumes. The structure is solid, the leadership is credible, and the vision is clear. We are fully committed to this project,” a party leader noted.
“What we are witnessing is a unified front. Agege is ready, and the momentum is undeniable,” another stakeholder added.
Observers believe the outcome of the meeting signals a deliberate effort to position the Egunjobi 2027 project on a strong organisational footing, anchored on unity, strategic clarity, and grassroots-driven participation.
With structures taking shape and support consolidating, the campaign appears poised to evolve into a disciplined and cohesive movement as the 2027 electoral cycle approaches.
