Ahead of the Ondo state governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 16 November, 2024, former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited the state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the Government House in Akure, the state capital
Aiyedatiwa, a member of the All Progressives Congress(APC), assumed the governorship following the passing of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in 2023 after a prolonged illness.
The visit was highlighted in images shared on the APC’s official X account on Monday,11 November, 2024 captioned: “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ondo State, HE Lucky Aiyedatiwa #LuckyAiyedatiwa at the Government House in Akure. Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, Obasanjo wished the governor a successful re-election.”
