Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria, the elders’ wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, has urged political parties to embrace issue-based electioneering ahead of the 2027 general elections, rather than mud-slinging, character assassination and rage-baiting rhetoric.
The call was contained in a communiqué signed by National President of Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria, Sadr, Alhaji Dauda Raji, and the Media Lead of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Dr Qasim Akinreti. issued at the end of the group’s 50th Annual National Convention, tagged the Golden Jubilee National Ijtema, held from Friday, 21 to Sunday, 23 August, 2026 at Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Themed “Faith-Based Solutions to Global Challenges,” the convention drew delegates from across Nigeria alongside international representatives from Benin Republic, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon and Sierra Leone.
It featured religious lectures, al leaders, and special prayers for global peace and national stability.

According to the communiqué, the medical outreach benefited over 1,000 people, who received consultation and drug administration, while 137 others got free eyeglasses.
On the 2027 polls, the group urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to play its true role as an impartial umpire, and called on eventual winners to be gracious and magnanimous in victory by forming an inclusive government.
Addressing faith-based responses to national and global crises, delegates reaffirmed that equity, justice, divine guidance, moral integrity and diplomacy remain essential frameworks for tackling economic hardship, social instability and geopolitical conflict.
The convention also emphasised the institution of Khilafah as the central pillar of Muslim unity and moral rebirth, urging elders to model prophetic leadership values within their families and communities.
On public health, the convention flagged the rise of non-communicable diseases and mental health challenges among older demographics, stressing early detection, preventive care and holistic mental health awareness for ageing populations.
It further reinforced the Ahmadiyya motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” calling for deeper interreligious dialogue, peaceful coexistence and closer collaboration among faith groups to tackle societal decay.
The gathering commended the execution of the Golden Jubilee Free Medical Outreach and pledged continued investment in grassroots healthcare delivery, education and social infrastructure, backed by the Ahmadi Medical and Health Professionals Association of Nigeria, Humanity First International, the International Association of Ahmadi Architects and Engineers, the Ahmadiyya Cyclist Association of Nigeria, and other auxiliary bodies of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
On human capital development, the convention noted the establishment of two fully accredited institutions committed to academic excellence: the Masroor International Technical College, a technical training-oriented institution in Ilaro, Ogun State, and the Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun State.
On security, the convention commended government efforts against insecurity, banditry and other economic crimes in Nigeria, while calling for stronger measures to eliminate all threats to lives and property.
It further called for a just, fair and egalitarian society where the rule of law and respect for the sanctity of human life prevail.
The group said Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria was renewing its commitment to translating the lessons of the Golden Jubilee into sustained action in faith, peace, service to humanity, education and national development.
In its commendations, the gathering expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for sustaining Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria over five decades of service to humanity.
It appreciated the Supreme Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, and the Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, for their spiritual guidance, and thanked all members of Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria for participating in the convention.
It also thanked the Ogun State Government, traditional rulers, including the Alake of Egbaland, security agencies, and the people of Abeokuta for their hospitality and support towards a successful Golden Jubilee celebration.
