In continued efforts to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment across the council area, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has intensified the council’s environmental sanitation drive through the deployment of the two waste compactors owned by the local government.
The initiative is aimed at clearing heaps of refuse and illegal dump sites across various communities within Alimosho, with Duduyemi Street in Egbeda among the key areas visited for waste evacuation.

The sanitation exercise, carried out at strategic locations across the local government, reflects the administration’s commitment to environmental cleanliness and the promotion of public health. Residents and business owners have consistently been encouraged to maintain proper waste disposal practices and desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roads, medians, and drainage channels.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson reiterated that environmental sanitation remains a top priority of his administration. He noted that a clean environment is fundamental to healthy living and sustainable community development, stressing that the local government will continue to invest in initiatives that promote cleanliness, safety, and orderliness.
The Alimoso LG Chairman further warned against indiscriminate waste disposal, emphasizing that individuals or groups found violating environmental sanitation laws would face appropriate sanctions. He called on residents to complement government efforts by taking responsibility for their immediate surroundings and adopting responsible waste management practices.
Hon. Johnson also assured residents that the local government would sustain regular sanitation exercises and strengthen waste evacuation operations across the council area. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a cleaner, safer, and more habitable Alimosho for all residents.
