The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Agege and Orile-Agege under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, 20 May, 2025 appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi to call the Speaker of the Lagos State House Assembly, Hon.Mudashiru Obasa to order over his alleged oppression, imposition and playing politics of division.
The group made the appeal when it rallied thousands of it members to Blue Roof, Agege, to protest against many sins of the Speaker in the two council areas.

The group’s members wore vests, held several placards and banners bearing inscriptions like “Obasa o to ge (Obasa, it’s enough),” “Agege says no to Obasa oppression,” “United We Stand Against political imposition of Obasa. He owns the structure and the delegates, therefore there cannot be justice,” and “Another evil eight years of imposition,” among others.
While addressing the party members, the group’s Chairman, Sabitu Kamorudeen; its spokesperson, Adetunji Akinyemi; Bukola Sofidiya alias Gidado; Honourable Shodijo and several others alleged that Obasa for over a decade has monopolized power to the detriment of the party in the two council areas.

“We don’t want one person to dictate for us in Agege. We say no to his domination in the two council areas, we say no to his anti democratic tendencies and we are going to liberate Agege from his hand and grip. We stand on the side of the truth and we thank those who are supporting our course on this matter, we shall win and overcome.

“We are not going to leave the party for him because we built it together and we must enjoy the fruits of our labour. By the grace of God, our labour will not be in vain. That is why we are calling on our leaders such as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Remi to please intervene in this matter and called obasa to order for the progress of the party in the council two council areas.
“We are here to express ourselves about the development in Agege and Orile-Agege. We are not for a talk show, we are here to provide solutions to the politics of imposition, oppression being championed by Obasa,” Akinyemi said while addressing mammoth crowd at the gathering.
According to Akiyemi, over two members of the party have penned their signatures calling for Obasa to stop his divisive politics and called on President Tinubu to intervene in the matter for peace to reign in the two council areas.
In his own address at the gathering, Sofidiya said the party is behind Tinubu like a pillar and they will not stop supporting him.
“We are great supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.We are just calling on him and his wife to rescue us from Obasa political domination. We are suffering under his leadership. We are saying this because we are true members of APC and we are not going to leave the party for him. We are a movement to enthrone the tenets of true democracy which our great party stands for,” he said.

A party member named Omolara Abiodun said members of the party are against politics of imposition by Obasa, saying “We have vibrant leaders, articulate leaders and what Obasa his doing in Agege is not what President Bola Tinubu fought for. Our great First Lady, Remi Tinubu we are also calling on you to come to our aid in Agege. This is a peaceful movement in APC and we believe in the tenets of democracy.”
This is the second time in a week that APC members would publicly protest against what they called oppression, imposition and politics of exclusivity by the Lagos Assembly Speaker.
