The Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has entered into a strategic partnership with 7Up Bottling Company Plc for the comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the Sari Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Iganmu, Lagos.
The development was announced on Wednesday, 24 June, 2026, following the conclusion of discussions between the council and the management of 7Up Bottling Company Plc.

The agreement was further reinforced during an inspection visit to the health facility located on Adekunledeen Street, Sari, Iganmu.

The inspection team was led by the Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu, alongside the Head of Sustainability Department at 7Up Bottling Company Plc, Mrs. Lovelyn Okoye.
Also present were the Council Manager, Mr. Lateef Omokayode Badmus; the Council Engineer, Engr. Gbenga Oyedele; and other executive members of the council.
During the visit, stakeholders assessed the current state of the facility and identified critical areas requiring intervention as part of the renovation project.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Saliu expressed gratitude to 7Up Bottling Company Plc for its commitment to improving healthcare delivery within the community. He described the intervention as a significant contribution to grassroots healthcare development and called on other corporate organizations to emulate the company’s example by supporting community-focused projects.
Mrs. Okoye disclosed that the renovation project would go beyond infrastructural improvements to include the establishment and equipping of a modern laboratory unit. According to her, the goal is to transform the health centre into a comprehensive, one-stop facility capable of providing quality healthcare services to residents.

She explained that the Managing Director of 7Up Bottling Company Plc was particularly concerned about the health and well-being of members of the host community, which informed the company’s decision to undertake the project.
“At 7Up Bottling Company, we believe that good health is good business. If people are to remain productive, their health must be in excellent condition. This informed our decision to support the renovation of this PHC and elevate it to a top-class healthcare facility,” she said.
Mrs. Okoye added that the company intends not only to improve the physical structure of the health centre but also to provide the necessary medical equipment required for efficient service delivery.
“There is currently no laboratory here. We plan to establish and fully equip one so that patients can access essential diagnostic services without having to visit other facilities. This initiative reflects our commitment to humanity and community development,” she stated.
She further noted that the upgraded facility would enable patients to receive diagnosis, laboratory analysis, treatment, and follow-up care in one location, thereby improving access to quality healthcare services.
“Our objective is to make this facility a one-stop healthcare centre where residents can receive comprehensive medical attention. We are committed to ensuring that members of the community enjoy better health outcomes,” she added.
Mrs. Okoye revealed that renovation work is scheduled to commence next week and is expected to be completed within six weeks.
Also present during the inspection were the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Ahmed Olanrewaju; Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Fatai Olanrewaju; Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon. Charles Achibong; and other political appointees of the council.
The partnership is expected to significantly enhance healthcare infrastructure and service delivery in Apapa Iganmu LCDA, reinforcing the role of public-private collaboration in community development.
