The Chairman of Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu, has presented free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to indigent students, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to expanding access to higher education.

The presentation ceremony held on Wednesday, 4 March, 2026, at the Council Hall in Apapa Iganmu, where the Chairman formally addressed beneficiaries, parents, council members, and community stakeholders.
The initiative, he explained, was designed to remove financial barriers confronting brilliant but underprivileged students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

Speaking at the event, Saliu described the occasion as more than a routine distribution exercise.
He said it represented a deliberate investment in the future of the community.
“Today is not just about the presentation of examination forms; it is about opening doors, creating opportunities, and investing in the future of Apapa-Iganmu,” he stated.
The chairman emphasised that education remains the most powerful tool for transformation, noting that the JAMB examination serves as a critical gateway to higher education in Nigeria.
However, he acknowledged that registration costs often pose serious challenges for many families.
“That is why this administration considers it a moral duty and a strategic investment to support our brilliant but financially disadvantaged students,” he said.
Furthermore, Saliu reaffirmed his administration’s policy direction, stressing that no capable child in Apapa-Iganmu should be denied access to higher education because of financial constraints.
“Our goal is simple: no capable child in our community should be denied access to higher education because of financial constraints,” he declared.
Addressing the beneficiaries directly, the chairman urged them to treat the opportunity with seriousness and discipline.
“This opportunity is a privilege and a responsibility. Make the most of it. Study diligently, remain focused, and represent Apapa Iganmu with excellence and integrity,” he advised,
Reminding them that they carry not only their personal ambitions but also the expectations of their families and the wider community.
He also called on parents and guardians to continue offering guidance and encouragement to their children, describing their sacrifices as invaluable to the success of the initiative.
Meanwhile, Saliu appreciated members of the council, community leaders, and partners who contributed to the programme’s success.
He noted that their collaboration demonstrated what collective effort can achieve when united by a shared purpose.
The Apapa-Iganmu LCDA Chairman explained that the JAMB sponsorship forms part of a broader youth empowerment and human capital development strategy of the council.
He added that the administration would continue to explore additional support mechanisms, including scholarships, mentorship programmes, and educational partnerships.
Saliu described the ceremony as another milestone in the council’s development agenda.
“When leadership is passionate about community growth and development, many lives can be transformed, and that is our case in Apapa Iganmu LCDA,” he said, before officially declaring the presentation ceremony open.
He ended the address with a prayerful note: “May God bless Apapa Iganmu.”
