The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council and sub-committees for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 15 August, 2026, with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State appointed chairman.

The party, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the campaign council would be inaugurated on Tuesday, 28 July, 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre, Abuja, by 12 noon.
According to the statement, Governor Uzodimma, who is also Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, will lead the council, while Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, will serve as co-chairmen.
The APC named the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, as Deputy Chairman, while the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, will serve as Secretary.
The party said the council comprises governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers and other stakeholders who will coordinate its campaign and mobilisation efforts ahead of the election.
It also constituted specialised sub-committees to oversee election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, persons with disabilities mobilisation and secretariat affairs.
The APC said the committees were established to strengthen its campaign structure and ensure effective coordination of its activities across the state as the election approaches.
The inauguration of the council and sub-committees on Tuesday is expected to formally set the party’s national campaign machinery in motion ahead of the August 15 governorship poll.
