The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Labour Party (LP) Governorship Candidate in Abia State, Alex Otti as the winner of the Saturday, 18 March, 2023 poll in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Otti, a former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, scored 175,467 votes to defeat his closest contender and immediate-past Chief of Staff to Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Okey Ahaiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 88,529.

Otti was declared the winner by INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Nnenna Otti, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
