The Provost of the College of Education, Kangere, Dr Dauda Buteh, on behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff, and students of the institution, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the College’s Governing Council, Architect Audu Sule Katagum, who died on June 20, 2026, at the age of 69 after protracted illness.

In a condolence message shared to newsmen, the Provost described the late Architect Katagum as an exemplary leader, a seasoned administrator, and a committed public servant whose wisdom, integrity, and dedication to service left an enduring mark on the institution worthy of mimicking.
The provost said the Governing Council and management received the news of his death with profound shock and sadness, noting that his passing is a monumental loss to the College, Bauchi State, and Nigeria as a whole.
According to the Provost, the late Chairman provided purposeful leadership and valuable guidance that contributed significantly to the growth and development of the College of Education, Kangere. He added that the institution would continue to preserve and uphold the legacies of excellence, transparency, and visionary leadership that distinguished his tenure.
The Dr. Buteh prayed Almighty God to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, the Bauchi State Government especially Governor Bala, his friends, associates, and the entire people of the state the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He further stated that Architect Audu Sule Katagum’s immense contributions to education, public service, and community development would remain indelible and continue to inspire future generations.
