Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) today rescued one fatal accident victim who was trapped inside a mini commercial bus (korope) on Ojuelegba bridge, Lagos. The accident which occurred around 12:45pm, today, Sunday, 29 January, 2023, between a 40ft container truck and commercial bus (korope) with registration no KTU 921YG had nine passengers dying on the spot. In a press statement by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said one person was rescued alive. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has finally extended the deadline for the swap of old naira notes at commercial banks by 10 days. In a press statement issued on Sunday, 29 January, 2023, Godwin Emefiele, CBN Governor, said the new deadline is now Friday, 10 February, 2023.
