Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State has expelled Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student previously believed to be missing, after investigations revealed he had deliberately left campus to purchase a black soap allegedly linked to Yahoo Yahoo Plus rituals.
The student’s disappearance on April 28, 2025, caused a stir on social media after his mother accused the university of negligence. However, the institution has now clarified that Siwajuola disguised himself in a hoodie and exited the campus through the teaching hospital gate without authorization.

According to a statement signed by Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of Marketing and Communication, Siwajuola returned to campus with his father on May 15 and was subjected to a disciplinary review. During the session, he reportedly confessed to buying the soap from a traditional herbalist for ₦100,000, intending to use it for ritual purposes to enhance his financial success.
He had initially claimed the soap was for a skin condition and was given to him by his mother, a claim she later denied, publicly distancing herself from the incident and revealing her son had lied.

Further investigations uncovered additional misconduct. Siwajuola admitted to drug peddling, impersonating another student to open a bank account, taking out a ₦500,000 online loan to fund gambling, and selling his phone without permission, falsely claiming that his father had approved it.
The university also clarified that contrary to the family’s initial account, Siwajuola was discovered in Lagos by the mother of a friend he was staying with, who alerted his family after recognizing him from online reports.
Babcock University described the student’s actions as a gross violation of its Student Handbook and stated that his behavior posed a threat to the safety and moral integrity of the campus community. As a result, the institution expelled him with immediate effect.
Although the university expressed disappointment over the “misleading accusations” made by the student’s mother, it has decided not to pursue legal action, citing the responsible conduct shown by the student’s father.
“Our foremost responsibility is to the well-being and discipline of the entire student body,” the university said.
