Members of the Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAMV) has joined several other members of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as Civil Society Organisations, political pressure groups and other non-partisan groups to formally declare their support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed them to the new party.

Thegazellenews.com had earlier reported that on Saturday, 2 May, 2026, Bala Mohammed announced his defection from PDP saying that he left the party due to circumstances he could not manage but has the party at heart.
He said after extensive consultation, he and his supporters have taken a firm and strategic decision to join APM. Saying that the decision was guided by an overriding objective, to secure victory in both the state and country to serve the people with purpose and integrity.

“The APM offers us a viable platform to organise effectively, mobilise our supporters, and present a coherent and credible alternative to the people. We have carried out due diligence and it is not infected by any legal virus that will serve as an impediment, unless it is manufactured after we have joined,” he said.
The supporters on Monday, 4 May, 2026, in their large numbers trooped to streets amidst drumming and dancing in demonstration of their support and loyalty to the Governor for taking the bold steps of dumping the PDP for the APM.
At the end of the street show, members of BAMV and other supporters of the Governor, converged at the Tatari Ali Polytechnic auditorium where solidarity speeches were made.
While speaking, the Director-General/National Leader of Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAMV), Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, described the Governor as a selfless leader who never traded his loyalists for his selfish interests.
According to him, “We throw our weight behind the Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed over his political re-alignment and meticulous defection to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).”
“It is important to state that the decision of His Excellency to take the bull by the horn was born out of patriotism, sincerity and honesty of purpose as well as his political dexterity and desire for continued effective governance and sustainable development of Bauchi State beyond 2027,” he said
The DG stressed that, “It is important to state at this juncture that the decision of His Excellency to take the bull by the horn was borne out of patriotism, sincerity and honesty of purpose as well as his political dexterity and desire for continued effective governance and sustainable development of Bauchi State beyond 2027.”

According to him, ”Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has come, has seen and has conquered. He is indeed a leader not a ruler; he is a giver not a taker; he is an achiever and not a destroyer.
He is a true democrat not a dictator. His kindness and generosity seems to have surpassed even the most optimistic of my estimation. Indeed, the likes of Governor Bala Mohammed are the Sardaunas, Tafawa Balewas, the Awolowos, the Aminu Kanos and other nationalities of the olden days.”
“Let me also say without any equivocation that the successes and achievements recorded by the Kauran Bauchi led administration in the last seven years across all the 20 LGAs in Bauchi State are immeasurable, unquantifiable and inexplicable. This is another way of saying that the achievements of this administration in the last Seven years alone is greater than those recorded by successive administrations in Forty – three years put together,” he added.
Abubakar Jibo added that, ”Going by the aforementioned facts and many more which time will not allow me to state, we, in BAMV alongside other political and Civil Society groups, numbering Seventy-two, some of which are either non-political in nature or belong to political parties other than our own, unanimously identify ourselves and solidly align with Governor Bala Mohammed’s new political shift from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).”
According to him, ”We strongly believe that the decision was not taken haphazardly, but after wide consultation and careful assessment and party scrutiny. We equally believe in the Governor’s ability under the banner of Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) to energetically pilot us to victory in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections.”
While re-affirming total support and solidarity to Bala Mohammed as he embarks on a new political journey under the platform of Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), BAMV declared the collective resolve to embark on a full scale sensitization tour of all the nooks and crannies of Bauchi State to enlighten the electorates on why the Governor took the difficult but necessary decision in the overall interest of the generality of the people of Bauchi State and the need to reciprocate the Governor’s selfless and meritorious service to the State by rallying round him to enable him take the State nto the promised land.
Various speakers at the event commended the bold steps taken by the Governor by dumping the PDP and joining the APM alongside his followers, supporters and other well wishers both from within and outside of the PDP.
During the rally, a State Executive Committee was constituted and inaugurated to steer affairs of BAMV with particular focus on drumming support for the Governor and all candidates of the APM ahead of the 2027 general elections.
