The 2027 governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Bauchi State, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, has launched a N200 million bursary programme to support students of the state studying in tertiary institutions across the country.

The Director-General (DG) of the APM Governorship campaign council in Bauchi State, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, disclosed this in a Press release issued to journalists on Sunday, 4 October, 2026.

According to the DG Campaign Council, the funds for the bursary programme were sourced from millions of naira donated to the governorship candidate by his friends and well-wishers in support of his campaign.

Koshe Akuyam explained that Governorship candidate personally redirected a portion of the campaign donations to fund the N200 million bursary programme as part of his commitment to education and the welfare of Bauchi State students.

“In his commitment to education and the welfare of Bauchi State students, Dr. Yakubu Adamu personally redirected a portion of these campaign donations to fund the N200 million bursary programme,” the release said.

Koshe Akuyam said the bursary scheme was one of several initiatives being pursued by the APM candidate to empower the people of Bauchi State, particularly youths, in education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, trade, artisanship and other areas of human development.

He said the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on students and encourage them to remain focused on their studies.

“We believe that one of the ways to support education and encourage our students to pursue their studies with all seriousness is by providing bursaries to ease their financial burden and enable them to meet the basic needs of their academic life,” he said.

The APM campaign council director-general also commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his efforts to improve education and support students in the state.

He noted that the bursary programme complemented the state government’s interventions through the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) and the timely payment of scholarships to students in tertiary institutions.

Koshe urged interested Bauchi State students studying in tertiary institutions across the country to apply for the bursary through the designated online portal.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the APM governorship candidate to promoting education and supporting students from the state.

“We remain committed to uplifting education and supporting our dear students of Bauchi State, wherever they are,” Koshe stated.
