Tragedy occurred on Wednesday, 31 July, 2024 as four women reportedly died in a ghastly road accident in Dutsin-Hari, a community along the Jalam-Lanzai Road in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
It was gathered that the vehicle conveying the women, who were on their way to Sade Market, lost control due to over speeding before somersaulting.
The victims were identified as Ai’shatu Salihu, 25; Furera Haladu, 25; Zuwaira Dandija, 19; and Lahala Muhammed, 41.
Several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident to reporters on Wednesday, 31 July, 2024, adding that the vehicle had over 30 passengers on board at the time of the crash.
“Many people were injured. When the police took them to the hospital, the doctor confirmed four people dead,” he said.
