The Bauchi State Government, through the state Special Schools Management Board, has demoted the Vice Principal (Academics) of Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School to the position of a classroom teacher after she was found guilty of administering severe corporal punishment on students.

The decision, it was gathered, followed an emergency meeting of the senior management committee of the Bauchi State Special Schools Management Board held on Tuesday, 30 September, 2025.

The Chairman of the Board, Babangida Barau, who confirmed the development, appealed for calm among parents, assuring that further disciplinary measures would be taken after due investigation.

“The board is committed to delivering quality education and discipline in line with modern standards of school administration,” he said.

In a related development, the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed an administrative officer, Yusuf Ningi, and a principal executive officer, Suleiman Ahmed, over serious misconduct.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, 1 October, 2025, by the Commission’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Saleh Umar, the officers were dismissed after they were found guilty of forgery during the Commission’s 35th plenary session held on September 23, 2025.

“The dismissal was considered and formalised at the plenary held at the Commission’s conference hall.

“The offence contravened the State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii and vi). The dismissal took effect from September 23, 2025,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the Commission also formalised the promotion of three substantive directors into the state service and endorsed the elevation of four deputy directors to the position of directors.

It was gathered that those promoted included: two Directors of Administration and Human Resources and a Director of Audit. Others endorsed were: Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics, Civil Litigation, as well as Land and Valuation.

Also promoted were eight Chief State Counsels and a Chief Land Officer who rose to the rank of Deputy Directors in their respective cadres.
