Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has taken former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on an inspection tour of facilities recently remodelled and upgraded by the state government at the famous Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi.

During the tour on Monday, 10 August, 2026, Governor Bala and the former President inspected key facilities aimed at improving the reserve’s infrastructure, tourism potential and overall visitor experience.
Among the facilities inspected was the newly installed 500KVA solar power farm, designed to provide a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply to the game reserve.
They also inspected the Yankari Museum, which has been refurbished as part of efforts to preserve and showcase the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the reserve.
The delegation further visited the iconic Wikki Warm Springs, one of Yankari’s major tourist attractions, where renovation and improvement works have been undertaken by the present administration.
The inspection formed part of activities marking former President Jonathan’s visit to Bauchi, with Governor Bala Mohammed showcasing the administration’s efforts to reposition Yankari Game Reserve as a modern tourist destination capable of attracting visitors, generating economic opportunities and promoting the state’s tourism sector.
