The newly elected leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council has expressed profound appreciation to members across all chapels for their support, cooperation and commitment towards the successful conduct of the council’s election.
The new leadership also commended media managers, affiliate unions and other relevant stakeholders for their contributions, encouragement and understanding, which collectively created an enabling atmosphere for the peaceful and successful conduct of the electoral process.
It particularly appreciated the 2026 NUJ Bauchi State Council Election Committee for organising a free, fair, transparent and acceptable election in strict adherence to the provisions of the NUJ Constitution and established electoral guidelines.

The leadership also acknowledged the commitment of members who participated actively in the electoral process, noting that their participation demonstrated confidence in the Union and reinforced the principles of unity, professionalism, accountability and democratic leadership.
The Council recognised the invaluable support of the Bauchi State Government through the Office of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Comrade Muktar Gidado, for creating a conducive environment that enabled members to exercise their rights peacefully and without unnecessary interference throughout the electoral process.
The leadership equally extends its appreciation to the security agencies for maintaining peace and order before, during and after the election, thereby contributing significantly to its successful and orderly conduct.
The newly elected leadership, while pledging to justify the confidence reposed in it by members, assures the entire Union of its commitment to promoting unity, professional development, members’ welfare and the overall progress of journalists through collective engagement with all chapels and stakeholders towards building a stronger and more vibrant NUJ.
