Members of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State Caucus in the House of Representatives, have unequivocally expressed their total and unwavering solidarity with the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in the face of recent spurious allegations of terrorism financing circulating in the public space.

The Caucus, in a statement on Thursday, 15 January, 2026, stated that, “While the matter is sub judice, and we will not descend into the arena of conjecture or media trial, it is necessary to remind Nigerians of the unmistakable record of Governor Bala Mohammed as a leader who has consistently placed the security, stability, and progress of Bauchi State above all else.”
According to the Caucus, “In the last six years, Governor Bala Mohammed has successfully checkmated the activities of banditry in Bauchi State, despite the state’s exposure to serious security pressures arising from its migrational tendencies with banditry-ravaged states like Zamfara and Katsina.”

It stressed that, “At a time when insecurity has displaced populations across the North-West and beyond, Bauchi State has remained a place of relative safety and refuge due to purposeful leadership and decisive governance.
“Equally significant is the fact that Bauchi State, though geographically located in the North East, has remained free from Boko Haram insurgency throughout Governor Bala Mohammed’s tenure. This did not happen by accident. It is the result of deliberate policies, effective collaboration with security agencies, and a governor who has refused-without compromise-to allow terrorists or criminal elements any foothold within the state”.
The Caucus further stated that, “A Governor who has consistently denied terrorists breathing space, protected communities, and sustained peace cannot, by any stretch of logic or reason, be branded a terrorism financier. Such allegations stand in sharp contradiction to the lived reality of Bauchi people and the security record of this administration.”
The Caucus added that, “Beyond security, the developmental strides recorded under Governor Bala Mohammed in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social development over the past six years remain unprecedented in the history of Bauchi State. These achievements speak louder than politically motivated narratives and confirm the governor’s commitment to good governance and people-oriented leadership.
“The Bauchi PDP Caucus in the House of Representatives, therefore, calls on the public to remain calm, discerning, and focused. We urge Nigerians to reject sensationalism, respect due process, and allow the truth to emerge through lawful means. We are confident that Governor Bala Mohammed’s integrity, track record, and service to Bauchi State will stand vindicated,” It added.
The statement was severally signed by Members of the Bauchi PDP Caucus in the House of Representatives, comprising of: Hon. Aliyu Aminu Garu, Bauchi Federal Constituency; Hon. Auwalu Gwalabe Katagum, Federal Constituency; Hon. Adamu Hashimu Ranga Ningi/Warji, Federal Constituency and Hon. Mohd Dan Abba Shehu Zaki, Federal Constituency.
