The Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education and youth development with the distribution of free GCE forms to 100 students across the council area.
The exercise, held on Wednesday, 19 August, 2026, at the Council Secretariat, Imota, was aimed at easing the financial burden on families while providing deserving students with an opportunity to pursue their academic aspirations and take another step toward tertiary education.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Benson described education as a critical foundation for sustainable development and a powerful tool for transforming lives. He urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, remain focused and disciplined, and work diligently toward achieving excellent results.
The Chairman noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to human capital development and its determination to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent young people in Imota from advancing their education.

The Special Adviser on Education and Library Services, Hon. Mrs. Morayo Solarin Akinyemi, commended the Chairman for the intervention, noting that the gesture would significantly reduce the financial burden on parents while creating greater opportunities for students to pursue tertiary education.
In an appreciation message delivered on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Shakiru Oluwagbafunmi expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Benson Ayodele and the Imota LCDA administration for the thoughtful intervention. He described the initiative as timely and impactful, assuring that the beneficiaries would make the most of the opportunity by preparing diligently for the examination and striving for results that would make their families and the entire Imota community proud.
Parents and other beneficiaries also expressed appreciation to the council, describing the initiative as a meaningful investment in the educational future of Imota’s young people.
