FC Babington concluded a commanding performance in the Bet9ja Foundation Ex-Internationals Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory over FC Giwa in the second leg at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, resulting in a comprehensive 9-0 aggregate win.

Ayoola Ibrahim initiated the scoring in the 20th minute from the penalty spot, goalkeeper Basit Isiaka dived the right way but was outsmarted by the precision of the kick. Substitute Miracle Chinasa extended the lead in the 44th minute, tapping in to emphasize Babington’s complete dominance throughout the match and the overall tie.

At the Maracana Arena in Ajegunle, FC Enegwea secured their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over FC Nieketien. Tobi Olubo shocked the home crowd by scoring in the 3rd minute, giving Nieketien a glimmer of hope. However, Ikechukwu Emma equalized in the 26th minute, and Prosper Udefuna netted the winner in the 63rd minute, turning the match in Enegwea’s favor. The 3-1 aggregate score reflects their composure and quality in the second half.

In a dramatic turn of events, FC Alloy triumphed over FC Ipaye with a 1-0 win, leveling the aggregate score at 1-1. Ola Shoneye broke the stalemate in the 53rd minute, finishing expertly after a swift restart and a slick passing move that dismantled the Ipaye defense. With the teams evenly matched over 180 minutes, Alloy maintained their composure to secure a 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout, completing a remarkable comeback.

These results pave the way for two exciting semi-finals in the Bet9ja Foundation ex-International Cup. FC Alloy will take on the formidable FC Babington, while FC Enegwea will face FC Okpara, promising a thrilling contest between two teams that demonstrated resilience and attacking flair in the quarter-finals.
