A non-governmental organisation, Big Flo Community Foundation, has empowered pupils of public primary schools in Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area.
The programme tagged, ‘Back To School With a Smile’ was put in place to celebrate the 65th Independence anniversary of Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, which took place on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, the founder of the Foundation and Vice Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Prince Akinola Falade, stated that the event was out in place to put a smile on the faces of indigent students as schools resumed for new academic year.
“It’s our own way of giving back to society and assisting indigent students at the primary school level to get better education,” Falade said.
He stated further that the Foundation has in the past been involved in various humanitarian services, particularly in the education sector.
“We have distributed free GCE and JAMB forms, while we have also organised vocational training programmes where women and youths were trained in various vocations such as fish rearing and bead training,” he said.
At the event, over 60 pupils were each given N25,000 and school bags.
Speaking at the event, the Special Guest of Honour and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, commended Prince Falade on the kind gesture.
According to Princess Adefulire, who was represented by former Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Alhaji Abdur Rasheed Mafe, she is in full support of the programme.
“This programme aligns with the SDG Agenda as well as the Renewed Hope Agenda of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” she said
Speaking for himself, Mafe urged the Foundation not to relent in pursuing programmes that will impact positively on society, particularly in the area of child education.
Headteachers of the four public primary schools in the council led their wards to the event.
