The Supreme Court has overturned the ruling of the Appeal Court over the Governorship tussle in Kano State, reports thegazellenews.com

Delivering judgement on Friday, 12 January, 2024, the Apex Court declared the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Abba Yusuf as the duly elected Governor of the state.

In the lead judgement read by Justice John Okoro, the Supreme held that the Appeal Court was wrong in upholding the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal which stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gawuna won the most lawful votes cast during the governorship election in the state.
