Honourable Tajudeen Abbas has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, reports thegazellenews.com
At the election conducted on the floor of the Green Chamber, Honourable Abbas polled a whopping 353 votes out of the 359 votes cast during the election thereby emerging the Speaker of the 10th Assembly of the House of Representatives.
Abbas’ rivals, Idris Wase and Aminu Waji polled three votes each.
As at the time of writing this report, Hon Abbas is being sworn-in by the Clerk of the National Assembly.
