Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer, Shakira’s “Dai Dai” has retained the No. 1 position on the Billboard Global 200 for a fifth consecutive week, extending its reign on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart to eight weeks.
Billboard reported the latest milestone on Tuesday, 18 August, 2026 noting that the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song has continued to command strong global demand despite the conclusion of the tournament.
According to data from Luminate cited by Billboard, “Dai Dai” recorded 44.1 million global streams and 6,000 sales during the July 7–13 tracking period, enough to keep the collaboration at the summit of the Global 200.
Outside the United States, the song generated 37.8 million streams and 4,000 sales during the same tracking period, retaining its No. 1 position on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
The latest performance further consolidates the song’s earlier breakthrough, when it became the first official FIFA World Cup song to top the Billboard Global 200. It has also maintained an uninterrupted presence at the top of the Global Excl. U.S. ranking.
Beyond streaming and sales, “Dai Dai” has continued to strengthen its presence on radio in the United States, emerging as the No. 3 biggest gainer on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart.
The song also spent a week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart in late July, marking another significant achievement in its post-World Cup run. Billboard had earlier reported that the track climbed from No. 4 to claim the top position on the chart.
The collaboration has consequently maintained its momentum despite the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 19, when Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final.
Before the tournament ended, “Dai Dai” had already established itself as one of the competition’s major musical successes. Billboard reported that the song reached No. 1 on the Global 200 on the chart dated July 18, after recording 41.5 million worldwide streams and 6,000 sales during the July 3–9 tracking week.
Its subsequent ability to remain at the summit demonstrates that the song’s appeal has extended beyond the football tournament for which it was created, with listeners continuing to drive its streaming, sales and radio performance.
For Burna Boy, the sustained chart dominance represents another major international achievement and further reinforces the Nigerian Afrobeats star’s growing influence on the global music scene.
For Shakira, the collaboration adds another notable milestone to her long-standing association with FIFA World Cup music, following her previous involvement with the tournament’s musical culture.
The continued success of “Dai Dai” therefore underscores the enduring commercial strength of the Burna Boy-Shakira collaboration, as the song maintains its global chart dominance weeks after the final whistle brought the 2026 World Cup to an end.
