Officials of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources have arrested a man for publicly defecating on a bridge in Lagos, reports thegazellenews.com.
Eighteen years old Ope Adeniran was arrested on the afternoon of Wednesday, 9 July, 2025, while publicly defecating on Oba Akran bridge in Ikeja.

Thegazellenews.com reports further that Adeniran was arrested and caught in the act by operative of the state Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) while on one of their motorised patrols.
He has been handed over to the appropriate agency for prosecution for flouting the state Environmental Sanitation laws.

Alhaji Ibrahim Dankani, a leading grassroots youth mobiliser of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano, has dumped the Kwankwasiyya Movement to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports thegazellenews.com
Dankani announced his defection during a visit to the National Assembly in Abuja, where he met with top APC stakeholders from Kano South Senatorial Distrrict.
Some of the prominent Kano politicians he met and interacted with were: Engineer Muhammad Ali Wudil, Board Member, NWDC; and Hon. Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, Kano State Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission
Citing his desire to contribute to the APC’s efforts to address Kano State’s and Nigeria’s socio-political challenges, Dankani’s defection marks a significant shift in Kano’s political landscape.
APC leaders warmly welcomed Dankani, praising his decision to join Africa’s largest political party and pledging to work together for the people’s benefit.
