Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was born next to my father’s house at Omididun suburb of Lagos Island. His humble background no doubt reflect in the way he has steered the affairs of Lagos State for the past 6 years.
He has remained as calm as ever in the face of daunting challenges and thus already etched his name in history as a symbol of peace who is unpretentiously detached from the distraction of paraphernalia of office. Beyond the many strides he has accomplished in office, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership style should be celebrated on the occasion of his Diamond celebration.
Wheres his emergence as the Governor is no doubt fortuitous, he has demonstrated beyond doubt for everyone to see that service to the people of Lagos state is an honour that must not be taken for granted. His commitment to selfless service is borne out of the understanding that access to public office is an opportunity to enhance equal access for the greater good of the people.
I have watched with admiration the continued transformation of Lagos State under the dexterous hands of the amiable Governor.
Under his leadership, the business of governance have witnessed tremendous compliance with global standards while various agencies of governance are being strengthened to enhance access to quality services. Governor Sanwo-Olu is enhancing the emergence of robust mega city state. No sector of governance has been left untouched by momentum of transformation under the leadership of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
I can attest to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to smooth interface between the executive and legislative arm of government. His commitment to teamwork reflects in the effective way governance has continued to deliver best result possible for the benefits of the majority of the people in Lagos State.
His approach to governance provided unfettered opportunity for members of the Lagos State House of Assembly to creatively deploy legislative functions into enacting effective laws that not only empowers the citizens by making democracy meaningful. In spite of hsi eminent position as governor, he carries himself with unusual comportment devoid of ego and exhibition.
Unassuming with his modest and easygoing disposition, Governor Sanwo-Olu is unrepentantly a loyal and dutiful party man who has championed the cause of the party that provided him the platform to fulfil his ambition. Governor Sanwo-Olu is no doubt a pride to the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose policy and programs he has implemented to the admiration of stakeholders across Nigeria.
Notwithstanding his position as governor, he has encouraged free choices and abhorred executive belligerence thereby making the party more cohesive and vibrant in Lagos State more than ever.
Governor Sanwo-Olu is blessed with a good wife Ibironke sanwo-Olu who has given the necessary support in providing enviable leadership. As Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attains the auspicious age of 60, I join millions of his admirers to congratulate and wish him abundance of GOD’s Grace for wisdom as he forges ahead in the service of humanity.
