Chelsea has communicated to Cesar Azpilicueta that his contract will be terminated, despite the fact the Spaniard still has one year left in his current year.

With this latest development, the Blues are willing to allow him leave as a free agent.

Azpilicueta, who was heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, is now close to joining Atletico Madrid.

This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Saturday, 1July, 2023.

“Chelsea have confirmed to César Azpilicueta and his camp that he’s gonna be allowed to leave for free; his contract will be terminated. Mutual respect between Azpi and the club.

“Atlético will unveil Azpi as a new signing very soon. It’s done, sealed, here-we-go,” Romano tweeted.
