The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Olufemi Oluyede on Sunday, 17 August, 2025 approved the appointment of new General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and redeployment of senior officers into key command and staff positions, reports thegazellenews.com.
The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, who made this announcement through a statement issued on Sunday, 17 August, 2025, said the new postings affect Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) at the Army Headquarters, GOCs, Corps Commanders, Commandants of Training Institutions, and Brigade Commanders.

Major General E.A. Anaryu, — Corps Commander, Supply and Transport
Major General J.E. Osifo, — Director-General, Nigerian Army Finance Corporation
Major General S.A. Akesode, — Head of Mission, African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Oluyede charged the newly appointed officers to redouble their efforts in sustaining ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency and other security threats.
The COAS assured that troops’ welfare remained his priority.
