The Anambra State Police Command has stepped into the shocking murder of the President General of the Ogidi community, Chief Ikwuka Okoye and one other unnamed person.
The unfortunate incident according to statement from the Anambra State Police command occurred Friday evening, 6 February, 2026 at the School Field, Ogidi
The information made available to journalists in the state allegedly linked the assassination to the recent capture and killing of an alleged notorious cultist known well within Ogidi and environs simply as “Emma Amasco”.
Police detectives had swiftly took over the scene of the incident and commenced investigations the moment the information circulated Friday night.
The Command according to official statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the detectives were already working with eyewitnesses and other available intelligence reports to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
The Command assured the public that all efforts were being intensified to bring those responsible to justice.
Witnesses described Amasco as a popular man in the area and lead hitman for a named killer cult group, hence, the general belief that his members of his group were responsible for the killing of the PG.
